The measurement of an elliptical gear flowmeter consists of a housing, a pair of gear rotors, and upper and lower cover plates, with a known volume cavity between them serving as the measuring unit of the flowmeter. The gear rotor is driven to rotate by the small pressure difference at its inlet, and continuously measures the liquid at the inlet through the cavity before sending it to the outlet. According to the number of rotations of the rotor, it is transmitted to the counter (secondary meter) to indicate the flow rate.

Installation of flow meter
The flow rate and installation should be carried out in a location with minimal vibration. A filter should be installed before the inlet of the flowmeter. To ensure accurate measurement, gas in the pipeline should be eliminated, and a gas purifier should also be installed. Before installation, the pipeline should be cleaned of dirt and welding slag, and a bypass pipeline should be installed.
